Crime Stoppers of Houston is Houston’s top non-profit dedicated to public safety and since 1980 has remained committed to its mission to solve and prevent serious crime in the Greater Houston Area in partnership with citizens, media and the criminal justice system.
Through innovation and expansion, Crime Stoppers of Houston strives to engage the community in the important conversations about crime, public safety, and the protection of our most vulnerable citizens. Programs
TIP LINE PROGRAM
713-222-TIPS The Tip Line Program continues to be a national crime solving system and aims to equip and motivate all citizens to report a crime. Through collaboration with more than 70 local and federal law enforcement agencies, the Tip Line has proven its success in solving and preventing crime in the Greater Houston Area.
The Safe Community Program identifies crime affecting our city and takes profound steps to prevent crime before it occurs. Through citizen empowerment and education, Crime Stoppers ensures the community understands crime trends and prevention tactics.
SAFE SCHOOL INSTITUTE
The Safe School Institute is a FREE year-round one-stop center for all aspects of school safety. It works to keep schools safe by creating a proactive dialogue with students, school staff and law enforcement about personal and school safety and by providing students with a safe and anonymous way to report crime and potential dangers on campus.
Crime Stoppers’ Fallen Hero Project protects, defends and gives back to the heroes who keep Houston safe.
The Victim Services and Advocacy Program promotes safety, healing, justice and rights for crime victims and survivors. It is designed to act as an advocate on all stages of victimization and ensure crime victims and survivors have a voice in our criminal justice system. - In 2019, the program led the State to pass 3 legislative bills to enhance victim’s rights and public safety. - 900+ victims were reached through crisis services, legal advocacy, parole board hearings, support group meetings, and events.
As the leading crime prevention resource for the Houston community, Crime Stoppers’ role is to facilitate important conversations with the community at large.
