Joe Madison is a husband of 27 years & a proud fatherof 3. In 2016, Joe left the Oil & Gas industry aftera 25 year career in strategic sales to volunteer fighting humantrafficking. In the time since, he’s stood in thebrothels, worked closely with law enforcement, transported survivorsto safety, learned from the exploited, the exploiters& the buyers & came to one realization: to stop traffickingwe must confront the truths about porn & demand.
- In 2017 Joe joined the demand reduction NGO Demand Disruption (formerly Love People Not Pixels) & has served as Executive Director since 2018. Demand Disruption is a buyer-informed organization that fights the demand for trafficking by eliminating buyer motivation and reducing access to the exploited.
- Joe created & co-developed the illicit massage business deterrent program called How To Shut Down A Brothel to equip communities to shut down brothels& prevent them from opening again.
- Joe co-developed the S.T.A.R. Program, a buyer-informed rehabilitation program designed to equip convicted sex-buyers with resources and accountability so that they never buy again.
- Joe created and co-developed The Church Body Project, a program designed to equip the church to address the destructive impact pornography is having on families in our culture and engage the church in the fight against human trafficking.
- Joe serves on Governor Abbott’s Child Sex-Trafficking Team’s task force as a subject matter expert on demand-related components of sex trafficking.
- In association with the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance, Joe founded the Demand Awareness & Reduction Team in 2020. This group of law enforcement, legal, education & intervention stakeholders is solely focused on combating the demand that fuels trafficking.
- Joe is co-creator of the Alpha Omega Initiative, a collaboration of 4 anti-trafficking organizations created to address the complete trafficking timeline from hyper-sexualization, to purchase to restoration and rehabilitation.
- Joe serves on the Board of the anti-trafficking Brazoria County United Front Coalition. - Joe is the Education Chair for YoungLife City Of Pearl and where he contributes curriculum to equip student leaders to navigate difficult conversation with the students they support & mentor.
- Joe founded the community group S.T.O.P . (Sex Trafficking Opposition of Pearland)in 2018 upon learning of 4 brothels operating in his own community. S.T.O.P . now has over 600 members & has led change in local legislation to help prevent brothels from opening.
- In 2017, Joe founded a small business called Come And Taste It Texas Foods, Inc., combining his pride for Texas, love for food & his passion for fighting trafficking. A portion of revenue from every product sold goes to fight human trafficking through the company’s Peppers With Purpose program.
- Joe currently mentors 3 boys in Pearland I.S.D.’s R.I.S.E. Mentoring Program.
