Do you know who "Lady Al-Qaeda" is? Today on The Balanced Voice we sit down with Barrister Dawood Ghaznavi for our most controversial discussion yet. Aafia Siddiqui who is also on FBI's most wanted list, currently sits in federal custody in Dallas. Barrister Ghaznavi visited us to discuss her case. After our interview with Barrister Ghaznavi we are joined by Crime Stoppers of Houston Board Chair, Jeff Vaden to learn more about counter terrorism and to gain some context to the story.


More About Dawood Ghazanavi: "Originally from Pakistan, Dawood Ghazanavi received his higher education from the United Kingdom‘s Uxbridge college, University of Oxford Brooks and University of Law to complete his law degree. At Law School, he was a member of many Law societies and worked closely with prominent British politicians. After moving back to Pakistan in 2011, Dawood started practicing law as the youngest ever Pakistani attorney to reach the Pakistan Supreme Court at the age of 26. He won many prominent cases and earned a ticket to run in an election at his hometown by the current Prime Minister‘s political party.


Dawood has played an instrumental role in the Pakistan supreme court providing 8 million overseas Pakistanis the right to vote in Pakistan’s elections. This matter had been unresolved since 1978. During this time he wrote his first book Thinking Ahead: the role of overseas Pakistanis in the 21st century. He is currently working on land reform and freedom of information act case which is still pending at the Pakistan Supreme Court. The Land Reform Case is asking for abolishment of feudalism in Pakistan.

Along with Aafia Siddiqui’s  repatriation, he has asked for repatriation of over 8000 Pakistanis detained in foreign prisons. He has a deep core commitment to help  prisoners detained abroad. Due to his efforts, Pakistani prisoners from Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia are returning home with the Pakistan Supreme Court’s Directions.His latest book, Aafia Unheard, launched on October 15, 2019 and has quickly become an Amazon international bestseller. The book is an in-depth explanation of Aafia Siddiqi’s court case in the United States and seeks to raise awareness of her case along with discussing possible solutions to peace with our nations."
